We now have a Hoisington/Horsington Genealogy Forum, where we can meet cousins and discuss our research and post research, photos, documents. You will have to do a separate registration to use it. Go to facebook.com to register for your own page. Once your page is created put Hoisington/Horsington Genealogy Forum in the Search field at the top of the page. Once our listing appears, click on Join this group and you're a member and ready to go.

The Hoisington Family has been in North America for more than 350 years. The earliest documented Hoisington in North America was not named Hoisington, but John Horsington. Other early Horsingtons in America have been found in Virginia and North Carolina and we believe there is a connection, but as yet that connection has not been found. We have just begun research to connect the Hoisingtons and Horsingtons in Great Britain, Australia, and other parts of the world. As sufficient information is found to document Horsington individuals and family groups, we will post the information to the website.

This web page is an attempt to gather all information on the Hoisingtons and Horsingtons in one place and to foster further research. For that reason and because the database is a large one, this page will always be "Under Construction".

Hoisington Gatherings

 

 

 

We met for the 6th Annual Hoisington Gathering at the Recreation Room of Old South Church in Windsor VT on Saturday, September 20th for a potluck, info sharing, and general get-together. We had a great time and we hope you'll join us next time.

All relatives and researchers are invited to our reunions in Windsor. Thus far, the reunions have taken place in September. However, we will be changing the date of the reunion to a Saturday in late July/early August to enable those of you who are traveling long distances and/or have school-age children or attend school yourself to attend. We will announce the exact date as soon as possible.

In addition, because it doesn't make sense to travel a long distance to attend the reunion and then turn around and go home, we are planning for activities in addition to the potluck/meeting. If you would like to suggest an activity or a topic for a seminar, you can contact Laura Robinson or Linda Farnsworth or myself, Harriette Jensen .

If you have, or know about, other Hoisington-related reunions, we would be happy to post information about them. Please let us know if they are open to all Hoisington/Horsington descendants or if they are restricted to a particular descent line or geographical area. Photos are also welcome.
